In recent weeks the Museum has been lucky to receive a number of donations to the collection. Three fine 19th century watercolours depicting Southgate Street were donated by Mr Robert Parsons and Mrs Biddy Walke.
A large number of photographs depicting the various sporting teams of Dunheved/Launceston College were donated on behalf of Gerald Uglow, the earliest of which date from the 1890s. The Museum’s permanent collection contains a number of old images of people from Launceston. However, many of the sitters are unknown. This donation is particularly important as Mr Uglow researched the identity of each sitter.
Also, returning to the town from Devon, a group of fragments from the Priory site have been donated by the Miles family of Exeter.
