A new exhibition starts on the 4th April in the pop-up museum showcasing the feudal dues to be presented to the new Duke of Cornwall. When Prince William next visits Launceston he will be presented with dues from the feudal manors that make up the Honour of Launceston. These include a salmon spear, gilt spurs, a goat skin mantle and lots more! The rendering of dues to the Duke at the gate of the Castle began when the Duchy was created and is first mentioned in 1338. It was revived in 1909 when dues were rendered to Prince George (George V). Since then each new Duke (Prince Edward (1921), King George VI (1937) and Prince Charles (1973)) have been presented with their dues at the Castle.
